Canadian actor Hondro writes about many subjects. - James N. Hondro

Marcus is a writer and actor living on a small Island near Vancouver. He has acted in plays, films and appeared in over 50 television shows and says he often plays "bad guys or unusual people." As a writer he's had plays and television scripts produced, short stories published and has written extensively for weekly newspapers. He's the winner of the Canadian Community Newspaper Association's 2011 Outstanding Columnist Award for his regular column, The Slow Lane Chronicles, in a weekly paper.

Hondro has many interests and pursuits and says he's a believer in strong research and making writing "alive and easy and enjoyable to read". He doesn't want to limit his contribution to Suite101 to any one area. "I think a lot about the world that we populate together." he says. "And I see the humor in it and stuff that's not so funny; I want to include it all."

In addition to acting and writing he enjoys writing about sports, hockey and soccer in particular, world and political events, culture, addiction, psychology, relationships and family. The lover of the outdoors adds that he'd even like to write instructional articles but "only if I first manage to learn about something first."
