In 2011 renting or hiring a motor home, camper truck or RV (recreational vehicle) remains the preferred choice of many thousands of vacationers to travel in Europe, North America, the African continent and to other parts of the world.
Simple math reveals that even when gas prices are high RV rental (or motor home hire) remains a mode of travel that is cheaper than hotels and motels and cheaper than buying your own motor home or camper. Hiring a motor home is also comfortable, convenient and far easier than pitching a tent each night of your vacation.
Motor Home Hire: Modern RV's Luxurious and a Comfortable Vacation Travel Option
RVs are not mobile homes though, just as with mobile homes, some use RVs as living quarters at trailer parks. Some trailer parks do not allow RVs but most will. As with motor homes, most RVs feature a bathroom, living area and eating area and sleeping areas. Former buses are often converted into RVs and campers on the back of trucks are often called RVs, so be sure you know of what you speak when gathering information.
This form of travel has been around a very long time. Indeed the covered wagons used by white settlers to get to new lands in the United States and Canada in the middle of the 18th century were a kind of forerunner to the motor home and camper trailer. In the early 19th century in France and England, and subsequently in other countries, circus performers, Gypsies and others housed themselves in wagons that were designed for living in.
By the 1910s in North America and Europe, motorized homes, crude and often no more than small living quarters built up upon cars or trucks, came along and the vehicle has grown since to the modern RV, spacious and luxurious and capable of traveling all over the globe.
Motor Home Hire Options and Rental Tips to Remember
If you need a rental with enough space for family or a number of friends there are the Class C Motor homes which can be up to 30 feet long and sleep six. These homes typically have a kitchen with a microwave; showers are included as are both heat and air conditioning.
Class A homes are larger and more luxurious and expensive while the Class B motor homes are smaller and give the comfort of driving in a van but are also well equipped and perfect for two travelers.
In general the Class A motor home resembles a bus while the Class B motor home, the smaller sized motor home, resembles a van and the Class C motor home will have the look of a truck with a camper upon it.
